Become a photographer

Turn your account into a photographer account. Takes a minute, no card needed.

Any Fotto account can become a photographer account. It is free, takes about a minute, and you do not need a card to start.

What you will do

  1. Sign in, then open your Dashboard.
  2. Select Become a photographer.
  3. Enter your business name. This is the name buyers see on your galleries and profile, for example "Aman Photoworks".
  4. Tick the box confirming you own the rights to the photos you upload and can sell them.
  5. Select Become a photographer to finish. You start on the Free plan straight away.

Note

The rights confirmation matters. Only upload photos you took, or have the right to sell. Event organisers and buyers trust Fotto photographers to hold the rights to their work.

What Free gives you

The Free plan lets you start selling with no card and no commitment. It carries a 15% platform fee plus the 2.5% payment-processing fee that applies to every sale on every plan, so a RM100 sale pays you RM82.50. You can run one event at a time.

When you are selling regularly, upgrading to a paid plan drops the platform fee a lot, and until 7 Sep 2026, a launch promo takes it to 0%, so that same RM100 sale pays you RM97.50 (just the processing fee). See Plans and fees for the full comparison, including what happens after the promo ends.

The "Get selling" checklist

Once you are a photographer, the dashboard shows a five-step "Get selling" checklist. The first step, naming your studio, is already ticked, since you just did it. The rest, in order:

  1. Set your watermark so your previews are protected.
  2. Publish the gallery. This is the finish line. A gallery stays invisible to runners until you publish it, so nothing sells before this step.

You will also want to add your payout details before your first sale, so your earnings have somewhere to land.
