On Fotto, photos live inside events. Before you can upload, you attach your gallery to the right event. Either the event already exists, or you create it. New events go live immediately: no review, no waiting.
Search first
When you start a new gallery, search events by name using the Upcoming and Past tabs. Several photographers can shoot the same event, each with their own gallery, so do not be surprised to see it already there.
As you type an event name, Fotto suggests similar existing events. If yours shows up, join that one instead of making a duplicate. It keeps all the photographers for that race in one place, which is better for buyers.
Create it from the new gallery form
Not listed? You do not have to leave the form. Select "Can't find your event? Create it here" and fill in the name, category, date, state, and location. The event is created on the spot, goes live immediately, and is selected for your new gallery. So event, gallery, and upload can all happen in one sitting.
The inline form has no description field. You can always add one later from the event's manage page.
Or use the full create-event page
You can also create an event on its own, from Create event on the events page:
- Event name, for example "KL City Marathon 2026".
- Category (running, cycling, and so on), date, location, and state.
- An optional description.
Note
The event is public as soon as you create it. You can start your gallery and upload straight away.
Your events
Events you created show up under Your events on your dashboard, with a link to each event's manage page.
Next: create a gallery.
